What Goes Into a Sentimental Flames Candle?
A finished candle looks beautifully simple.
A vessel. Wax. A wick. Fragrance.
Light it, and the room changes.
But behind that little flame are dozens of decisions you will probably never see.
And that is exactly how we think it should be.
When you bring a Sentimental Flames candle into your home, you shouldn’t have to think about everything that happened before it arrived.
That part is our responsibility.
We care about what you don’t see
Long before a fragrance becomes part of our collection, we spend time considering how it fits into the Sentimental Flames world.
Does it evoke something?
Does it have depth?
Would we want this fragrance filling our own home?
Does it tell a story rather than simply smell pleasant?
Then comes the less romantic part.
Testing.
Adjusting.
Watching.
Burning.
Testing again.
Creating candles by hand means we remain incredibly close to the product. We see the little things that can easily disappear when something is manufactured at scale.
And while those details may never make it onto a product description, they matter.
Our choice of wax
We use coconut-soy wax because the materials behind the finished product are important to us.
Our goal has always been to create home fragrance that feels beautiful without compromising the values the brand was built around.
For us, luxury is not simply how something looks.
It is also about how thoughtfully it has been made.
What has been included.
What has intentionally been left out.
And whether we would feel comfortable burning that candle in our own homes.
Fragrance with a purpose
Fragrance is obviously at the heart of what we do.
But we don’t create collections by looking at a list of trending scents and choosing whichever ones seem popular.
We are far more interested in the emotion behind them.
A fragrance should create atmosphere.
Perhaps it feels like fresh air moving through open windows.
A kitchen filled with something sweet.
A quiet hotel room.
A rainy garden.
Warm skin after a day in the sun.
We want you to smell a Sentimental Flames candle and immediately begin imagining.
The vessel matters too
The candle vessel is not simply packaging for wax.
It becomes part of your home.
That realisation is one of the reasons we became so intentional about our vessels and eventually started making our own.
We wanted something that felt unmistakably Sentimental Flames.
Understated.
Tactile.
Beautiful enough to leave on display.
And because we believe beautiful things shouldn’t automatically become disposable, our refillable approach gives the vessel an opportunity to continue beyond the first candle.
Handmade is slower — deliberately
There are faster ways to make things.
There always will be.
But handmade production allows us to remain connected to what leaves our studio.
Each candle passes through real hands.
Each is poured, finished, checked and prepared before eventually finding its way into somebody else’s space.
We never want Sentimental Flames to become so focused on producing more that we forget why we began creating in the first place.
The goal was never simply to make candles.
It was to make something thoughtful.
Something beautiful.
Something that carries a little piece of our story before becoming part of yours.
So when you light a Sentimental Flames candle, what you see is wonderfully simple.
A vessel.
A wick.
A flame.
But behind it is a great deal of care.
And we wouldn’t make them any other way.
